Change text in a PDF and keep the layout

Click a line of text and retype it. The editor keeps the size and position and matches the closest font, so the page still reads as one document.

How it works

How to change text

Upload your PDF

Drag the file into the editor or pick it from your device. Pages load in order so you can find the text you need.

Select the text you want to replace

Click into a line and type over it. Size and position are kept, the font is matched to the closest available family, and you can change any of it by hand.

Download the updated file

Check the page, then export a new PDF. Your original upload stays in the workspace untouched.

No conversion round trip

You edit the PDF itself. There is no export to Word and back, so tables, columns, and page breaks stay where you left them.

Font matching you can override

The editor reads the style of the text you click and picks the closest of Helvetica, Times, or Courier. Keep that match, or set a different family, size, weight, or color.

Review in context

Every change is shown on the page before you export, so a corrected date or spelling does not quietly shift the rest of the layout.

What you can expect

Clear commitments, not claims

Your files stay yours

Documents are scoped to your account and tied to the project that created them. You choose when a file is shared or removed.

Costs shown before you pay

Self-serve work and quoted work are separated clearly. You see what a request costs before anything is charged.

Honest about limits

We say what a tool does and does not do. Make Creati is for documents you own or are authorized to modify.

Draft content notice. A competitor page would show customer testimonials here. Make Creati has no published reviews yet, so this section states verifiable commitments instead. Swap it for real, attributed reviews once they exist — see docs/PAGE-SPECS.md.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change text in a PDF without converting it to Word?

Yes. You edit the text layer of the PDF directly, so the file never leaves PDF format. Layout, images, and page breaks stay as they were.

Will the new text match the original font?

Size and position are kept exactly. The font is matched to the closest of Helvetica, Times, or Courier rather than re-using the document's embedded font, so expect a close match rather than an identical one. You can change the family, size, weight, and color yourself.

What if the text is part of a scanned image?

Scanned pages store text as pixels, not characters, so there is nothing to click into. Cover the area and place new wording on top with Add Text instead.

Does editing one line change the rest of the page?

Only the block you edit changes. Longer replacement wording reflows inside that block, so read the paragraph again before you export.

Can I edit a PDF that has a password?

You need to open the document with its password in a PDF reader first, then save an unprotected copy and upload that. We do not offer password removal.

Am I allowed to edit any PDF I have?

Edit documents you own or are authorized to modify. Do not use the editor to alter records issued by someone else, such as statements, transcripts, or government paperwork.
