Cookie policy

Exactly what Make Creati stores in your browser, why, and how long it stays. Everything here is either required to run the service or stored on your device for your own use.

Publication status — draft

Draft v0.1 · Inventory matches the keys currently set by the application. This language needs client and legal approval before publication. It is a structured working draft, not a final legal guarantee.

Strictly necessary cookies

mc_account — keeps you signed in to your workspace. HttpOnly, up to 30 days, cleared when you sign out.

mc_entitlement — records what you have paid for so downloads unlock. HttpOnly, up to 60 days.

These cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in and purchases. They are not used for advertising and carry no profile of you.

Browser storage (not cookies)

makecreati-editor (IndexedDB) — the PDFs you have opened and your edits. Stored on your device, never uploaded. Removed when you delete a document or clear site data.

mc_cart — what is in your basket before checkout.

mc_orders — your purchase history, so the account area can show it.

mc_tickets — support requests you have raised.

mc_reviews — reviews you have written.

All of these live only in your browser. Clearing site data deletes them permanently and we cannot restore them.

Payment provider

PayPal sets its own cookies on its checkout pages for fraud prevention and to complete the payment. Those are governed by PayPal's own policy. Make Creati does not read them.

Counting visitors: no cookie at all

We do count how many people visit and which pages they open, but not with a cookie. The counting is done by our own server, and nothing is sent to Google or any other analytics company.

To count one person once a day, we turn your IP address, your browser's user agent, a secret held only on our server, and today's date into an irreversible code. The date is part of it deliberately: the same person produces a different, unconnected code tomorrow, so we cannot follow anyone over time. Nothing is stored on your device, so there is nothing here to accept, refuse, or delete.

Full detail is in the privacy policy under “How we count visitors”.

Advertising

Where we run advertising campaigns we may use measurement cookies from advertising partners, including Google, to see whether an advert led to a visit or a purchase. These are only set where the required consent has been given.

No document, document name, or document content is ever shared with an advertising or analytics partner.

You can opt out of personalised Google advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

Managing all of this

Every browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies and site data, usually under Privacy settings. Blocking the strictly necessary items will stop sign-in and purchases from working.

Deleting site data also deletes any documents you have open in the editor. Download anything you want to keep first.
